Siamo in Valmozzola e precisamente a Case Sozzi per visitare alcuni dei suoi più gioielli architettonici, storici e naturalistici, fino ad oggi poco noti al turismo locale e nazionale.
La Valle del Mozzola, tagliata fuori dalle grandi vie di comunicazione,
prima dalla strada ferrata Parma-La Spezia, oggi decentrata rispetto alla strada provinciale di Fondovalle Taro, e all’estranea mole dell’autostrada, conserva importanti testimonianze del passato, talune poco note, come la chiesa di stampo romanico di San Siro, le enigmatiche costruzioni in pietra di Case Sozzi, che ora andremo a visitare, il fascinoso oratorio dedicato a Sant’Enrico e altre come la mole ofiolitica di Gusaliggio, che è stata l’ultimo baluardo di Oberto Pallavicino, il «Grande».
La valle dl Mozzola ha rappresentato nel tempo un luogo di continua osmosi fra gente e popoli europei, per la ricchezza di tutte le culture ma soprattutto per questo imbuto disegnato dal torrente Mozzola, sovrastato dalle imponenti sagome del monte «La Tagliata» e «Barigazzo».
A primeggiare per interesse sono senz’altro le misteriose costruzioni in pietra di Case Sozzi, l’abitato situato a circa tre chilometri dal capoluogo di Mormorola.
Spicca in particolare un «casotto» risalente alla prima metà del XIX secolo.
ora andiamo a visitarlo.
La bellezza di questa costruzione è dovuta all’eleganza della forma slanciata, alla presenza della parte terminale a cupola sorretta da un ultimo livello di forma ottagonale, con aperture su ogni lato, inscritto nel quadrato dei piani sottostanti e separato da uno sporgente cornicione a riseghe.
Queste costruzioni Sono state realizzate nei primi anni dell’Ottocento.
Non hanno avuto alcun fine particolare, tantomeno militare o difensivo, visto anche il periodo di costruzione. A memoria d’uomo, non hanno mai avuto un utilizzo che le potesse caratterizzare. Sono state ideate da qualche membro di particolare cultura della famiglia Sozzi, contestualmente agli interventi sugli edifici nel gruppo di case sottosottostante: sicuramente nell’idea progettuale di questo Sozzi, le “torrette” avevano un significato, purtroppo non tramandato fino ad oggi.
Fra le diverse ipotesi, è stato pensato che possano essere state “torrette arcadiche”.
